Mastery Mindset

Are you tired of mood swings? Activate your mind’s happiness switch with this simple rule!

Are you tired of mood swings? Don’t we all face mood swings at least once in our lifetime? There’s always a clear reason behind a bad mood. Just as there should be a clear system to switch your mood as well, activate your mind’s happiness switch with this simple rule.

There are numerous techniques to switch your mood, yet here I am going to share with you one simple but powerful mind rule!

Before explaining what to do, let me tell you why you should engage in this activity.

There is a book called ‘The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck‘; it emphasizes the below point.

If you are facing challenges because of yourself, it’s your own responsibility to overcome them in your life. And if you are facing problems because of someone else, it’s still your own responsibility to overcome them because it’s your need and it’s impacting you and your own life.

And here’s the problem: we often think that someone else has spoiled our mood and that it’s their responsibility to fix it.

However, it’s important to realize that others might only have the responsibility to influence our mood negatively; it’s not guaranteed that they will come and fix it for us.

Ultimately, it’s our responsibility to take charge of our own mood.

Activate your mind’s happiness switch with this simple rule!

Smiling is often seen as an expression of happiness, but it also has a reverse gear. A smile can actually create happiness.

This principle of the mind is called the SMILE Rule.

So, what does SMILE stand for? It means ‘Start My Internal Love Engine.’ When you smile, you ignite your internal energy, giving yourself a boost.

During moments of happiness, smiling comes naturally. But did you know that the reverse is also true? If you smile, you can actually boost your own happiness.

Don’t believe it? Try this:

SMILE right now; Come on.. Smile for the next 20 seconds as wide as you can, making your cheeks feel like they’re glowing with light. Now, comment below and let me know how you feel!

Do you know why this technique works? It’s because the muscles in our cheeks are directly linked to stress.

When someone is experiencing high levels of stress, their cheeks tend to droop. However, when you smile, it triggers the happy hormones inside you and helps release that stress. So, not only does smiling improve your mood, but it also has a tangible effect on reducing stress levels.

SMILE Exercise

When you’re feeling really down, follow this simple exercise:

  1. Stand in front of a mirror.
  2. Look at yourself, and give yourself an extreme smile.
  3. Relax and return to your normal expression.
  4. Once more, look at yourself in the mirror and give a big smile, making sure your cheeks glow.
  5. Relax and return to your normal expression.
  6. Repeat this process 10 times.

This exercise can help lift your mood and bring a smile to your face, even in the toughest of times.

You can do this every day, anytime. Make it a 2-minute exercise in your daily routine, even if you’re not experiencing any mood swings.

The Power of Smiling

This marks the beginning of turning your mind into your best friend instead of seeing it as an enemy working against you.

Imagine you’ve been deeply hurt by someone’s words or actions. It may feel like they intended to cause you even more pain. In that moment, instead of letting their negativity affect you, choose to smile.

Smile and take a selfie to capture that moment Then, update your status on social media with a positive message!

This approach isn’t about seeking revenge or trying to retaliate against someone who has hurt you.

It’s about creating evidence for your mind to train it to react positively even in difficult situations. By taking a selfie with a smile, you’re sending a powerful message to your subconscious mind that you have the strength and resilience to overcome challenges.

This belief will gradually tune your mind to appreciate your ability to stay positive, and it will start to follow you instead of your mind controlling you.

Begin by practicing in small, sad situations first. Then, gradually transition to practicing in higher-intensity situations. It will prove effective.

If you find it difficult to smile, there are alternative techniques you can try to uplift your mood:

Smiley Balls or Pictures:

Surround yourself with visual reminders of happiness. Keep a basket of smiley balls or place pictures of smiling faces around your work area. These visual cues can serve as gentle reminders to lift your spirits and encourage a more positive outlook.

Smiling Effect Sounds:

If you search on YouTube, you will get smiling-effect audio. These audio tracks are designed to evoke feelings of happiness and joy. A sample video is provided below!

Close your eyes and focus on the sound. As you immerse yourself in the uplifting audio, you may find yourself naturally responding with a smile. This simple act can trigger and boost your overall happiness.

I hope you have a SMILE now after reading this.
